Pointe Classes It is the sole discretion of the Academy Director as to when students are allowed to take pointe classes on pointe. This is for the safety of the student. It is recommended that students attend pointe classes in ballet shoes, in addition to regular ballet technique classes, for those whose goal it is to dance on pointe in order to obtain increased strength. Pointe shoes must be approved by the Academy Director. It is mandatory for all pointe students to attend Prep I and Prep II workshops. These are school-type workshops, not dancing. They are only offered once or twice a year. Refresher courses for those who have already attended will be required if necessary in the opinion of the Academy Director. |
